Bio

As a K-12 practitioner and political scientist, I听am听interested in the intersection of theory and practice as it relates to improving postsecondary education access and success for minoritized students.听 Drawing on my听decade of experience as a classroom educator and school leader, my听research interests focus on issues of equity in the P-16听educational pipeline, and the roles macro-level (state reforms) and micro-level (classroom practices) policies play in听shaping student success outcomes.听 I frequently听employ听mixed methods in my work, and听specialize in econometric and historiographical approaches to analysis.听听I hold听a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Political Science with minors in Biological Sciences and Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Chicago, as well as a Master鈥檚 degree in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio and am听a graduate of the Urban School Leaders Collaborative at UTSA.
