Kirsten Elliott is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education, with a concentration in Education Pschyology.ÌýShe works as a research assistant with the Center for Empowered Learning and Development with Technology (CELDTECH). KirstenÌýis advised by Dr. Brendesha Tynes. Her research engages in critical analyses of education technology, specifically as it relates toÌýdesign-based research, issues of race and racismÌýand Culturally Relevant Pedagogy.ÌýThrough innovative research and bold leadership, Kirsten isÌýdetermined to be a lifelong advocate for equity. Essentially, her goal as a researcher is toÌýcontribute to critical, intersectional research that empowers education technologyÌýto better serve students of marginalized populations and to be bastions of justice.Ìý

She holds an MAÌýin ÌýCurriculum and Instruction with a specialization inÌýMathematics EducationÌý(Florida International UniversityÌý'20) and B.S. in Mathematics (University of Florida '17).ÌýPrior to pursuing a doctoral degree, KirstenÌýhad the privilege of teaching high school geometryÌýin Miami, Florida.Ìý
