Bio

Kirsten Elliott is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Southern California鈥檚 Rossier School of Education, with a concentration in Education Pschyology.听She works as a research assistant with the Center for Empowered Learning and Development with Technology (CELDTECH). Kirsten听is advised by Dr. Brendesha Tynes. Her research engages in critical analyses of education technology, specifically as it relates to听design-based research, issues of race and racism听and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy.听Through innovative research and bold leadership, Kirsten is听determined to be a lifelong advocate for equity. Essentially, her goal as a researcher is to听contribute to critical, intersectional research that empowers education technology听to better serve students of marginalized populations and to be bastions of justice.听

She holds an MA听in 听Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in听Mathematics Education听(Florida International University听'20) and B.S. in Mathematics (University of Florida '17).听Prior to pursuing a doctoral degree, Kirsten听had the privilege of teaching high school geometry听in Miami, Florida.听
